Customer had a few customer provided parts to install for different fixtures of home. Gabe options for repair/replacement after evaluating home. Installed hot and cold cartridge for master bath faucet on right. Also replaced sprayer in shower. Last replaced cartridge in bar sink faucet. After work was complete checked for leaks and proper function of fixtures. Gave options for work to be addressed at later date.
Garbage disposal not working upon arrival. Customer stated he dropped a spoon down the disposal and now it’s not working. Informed customer we could attempt to unjam the disposal first. After attempting to remove the spoon and it not coming loose informed customer we would need to replace the disposal. Gave customer estimate to replace with 1/2 hp disposal. Customer approved estimate. Installed new garbage disposal and re hooked up dishwasher line and tubular. Filled up sink and turned disposal on while the sink was draining. No leaks were found. Garbage disposal is working properly and no leaks upon departure.
Came out to do diagnostic for reoccurring issue of randomly getting cold water coming through the master bathroom shower. We ran the shower for a while and did randomly get some colder water coming through than what the temperature control was set to. We confirmed the three bathrooms upstairs are tied in to the same trunk line. Both guest bathrooms upstairs have single handle shower valves with older valves original to the home that have never been repaired. We spent some time trying to identify the valves and look for possible replacement parts but were unable due to no marking indicating the manufacturer. From what I could find on online forums it appears these style valves are no longer being manufactured. We left quote to replace both shower valves and install access panels. Customer has decided to just deal with the issue as it is not a constant issue for the time being.
Call for low water pressure at home that we recently installed halo water filter in. Met and discussed concerns. I cleaned all aerators and found sediment in some. This could have been from the filter, or as a result of turning water on and off to perform repairs with corrosion already present inside the waterlines. In any case, i cleaned all aerators and checked all fixtures. I tested pressure and brought it up from 60psi to 70 psi. I did note that there is still pressure rebound on the lines when fixtures are activated. We have done all required work that is called for to address this issue. If the problem persists, we can come out for a diagnostic window and dig near the meter and assess if a pipe mainline size upgrade is warranted, or replace the pressure regulating valve for the small chance it may be defective. I also sent an email asa. Courtesy to hansgrohe to help the customer get in touch with them.
Client called us out today due to very low pressure at the kitchen faucet. The whole home water pressure is a little low itself at 40 psi, but the kitchen faucet was significantly lower. We replaced the kitchen faucet with new customer supplied single hole faucet. Hooked up connections and tested, no issues.
Customer discovered a septic tank that hasn’t been backfilled in the back yard when having trees removed. Customer was concerned existing plumbing could still be running to the septic tank. Customer had pulled county record showing a conversion happened from septic to sewer. Informed customer that for the county records to indicate that, permits would have to be pulled and an inspection would have occurred for the records to indicate that. It’s almost certain to be abandoned. Gave option to run camera for 100% assurance. Left quote to backfill the septic tank and replace the water heater. Offered 10% discount for same day service and customer declined at this time. No dispatch fee for water heater quotes.
Lower bathroom toilet constantly running Replace the service stop valve in bathroom for toilet Today we did our annual plumbing inspection, everything looked good except for two different toilets, the toilet in back was constantly running indicating that there was an issue with the inside parts, so therefore I recommend to replace the supply line, fill valve and flapper went back to oem flapper Toto. And then the other toilets service stop valve wouldn’t close and or had a minor drip when turned off, so I recommend to replace that valve along with the supply, that is what we completed, there are no leaks present time of service. Additionally during our inspection we couldn’t find a sewer clean out, that is recommended. Additionally when it is time to replace the water heater I recommend going to a tankless rather than a tank style water heater. Just due to the space in the crawl space.
Cody A. has saved the day for us a couple times now! They always get us on schedule quick and their techs do a great job!
Customer had sewage ejection pump stop working. Due to age and issue, suggested to replace. Gabe options for repair/replacement. Pulled pump, cleaned area of lid, connected new pump then set into place with lid. Secured lid to basin and ran water for 10mins to ensure proper discharge of pump. Also checked for leaks.
Toilet cracked at the base and rocking upon arrival. Customer stated she had a previous company out to replace both toilets and now the one in the customer bathroom is cracked and rocking. Customer also stated the shutoff valve for the toilet is not working so it would need to be replaced as well. Informed customer we could shut off the water at the meter since the buildings in this complex are on individual meters. Informed customer it would be best to replace the stop, toilet, and the supply line and when we take the old toilet off we can inspect the flange to make sure it’s not cracked. If the flange is cracked that can cause the toilet to rock. Left customer with two options, the first option includes replacing the toilet, shutoff for the toilet and a new supply line. The second option is a starter price for the flange if it is cracked. We cannot give a 100% accurate price on the flange until the toilet is pulled since we do not know how the flange was plumbed in originally. I will
Checked disposal , is working fine
Left quote per customer request
Replaced PRV. Set new pressure to 70 psi. Removed two tank water heaters and installed a Navien 240A2. Cut open the ceiling in the bedroom next to the utility room. Drilled two new holes through the foundation and ran my air intake and exhaust outside. Installed crossover valve under the kitchen sink. Tested to ensure proper function and a leak free installation.
Replace 40 gallon water heater with a 50 Replace pressure Reducing valve and shut off Cap two water lines-courtesy Flex shaft floor drain Remove dishwasher For this customer, we replaced in new pipes the water heater because the water heater was at end of life so therefore we replaced the water heater with a brand new 50 gallon rather than a 40 gallon installed a new thermal expansion tank with a bracket installed a new pan for the water heater can you shut off valve as well? In addition to that we also replaced the pressure reducing valve to reduce the pressure inside the home. The prior pressure reading was 120 pounds which is too high so therefore, I recommended we install a new pressure reducing valve in order to keep that pressure lower so right now it is at 60 pounds. Additionally installed a new shut off valve for that as well. When I came out on Easter Sunday, the customer had stated that their dishwasher was leaking and there was a potential leak that we remove the dishwas
2 hose bibs needing to be added upon arrival. Customer stated he is going to build two raised garden beds in the backyard and wants an estimate to run two water lines to them. Informed customer we could run both water lines with hose bibs on the end and add shutoffs in the crawlspace. Customer stated he would trench the yard himself to save money. Gave customer estimate, customer is going to get the raised beds in position first and then have us back out
Looked at in basement. Door left unlocked. No one home.
Run camera from cleanout access behind water heater. Ran camera from clean out that is behind water heater. Found that house has a back water valve. Was able to get camera through. Found that sewer line has root intrusion and also is hold water for most of the way towards the city. Wasn’t able to get depth of sewer line. Will need to contact city for them to come out and correct slope for there line before we can give estimate for sewer line replacement.
Customer called us out for sink line that was clogged, after an initial evaluation we determined they’re running a hand. Snake would be the best option to unstop. Customer agreed used hand snake to unclog the line about 5 feet in pipe, thoroughly tested work and found no other issues
Client called us out due to them having a backup up sewer system in the house and water leaking into basement. When we arrived, we flushed toilets and ran washing machine and ran all water in the home and could not recreate the issue. This is the 3rd time this has happened over a period of years. Best route would be run sewer camera down the sewer line to inspect and see what/if the issue is causing these backups. Sewer line seems to be flowing now, but does not mean there couldn’t be an issue down there.
Diagnosed issue with plumbing system. Left estimate to replace section of drain line in basement in the slab and to install new floor drain and clean out outside.
Found a fixed aother copper pinhole leak in basement today , recommend customer for whole house water filter / softener
A wealth of knowledge and easy to understand explanations are the hallmarks of Shane’s professionalism and service. Shane explained my system and my options. I hope to work with Shane for many years to come.
Dug down to pipe where we were seeing sewage come up out of the ground at. Found lots of chunks of asphalt/concrete buried around the pipe. Cleanout branch was cracked, which we took a video of. This was the source of the leak. Cut out the damaged section and replaced with 3” pressure pvc. Ran water inside the home annd tested repair to ensure the line was holding sewage with no leaks. Let the repair sit for 45 minutes while we went annd got more sand to ensure no slow leaks. Encased the shielded fernco’s with hydrostatic foam. Bedded pipe up to 6” above and below the pipe with sand. Backfilled by hand another 1’ of dirt above to ensure no rocks were touching the pipe. Backfilled the rest of the soil, tamping every 12”. Replanted the bushes we removed back in their original locations. No further issue at this time. No warranty on the repair due to it being a lift station ejection line. Homeowner was made aware of this. The break on the pipe was not on the discharge line itself, but on
This customer wanted to make sure that he had bypass valves installed on his tankless water heater because he was planning on doing the flush himself however, I recommended him to do our membership that includes the tankless flush for our annual visit without in mind he instead of spending the $390 on the flush. He would actually pay the 240 for the year and get all the special benefits. It comes with membership so that’s what he decided to do. His water. Pressure is fine. His tankless is fine as well.
Remove existing water heater and haul away. Furnish and install new 50 gallon gas water heater with new tank shut off and new thermal expansion tanked with bracket. Also install drip pan under heater. Install new water heater and tested. No leak leaks were present at this time. There should be hot water within 30 minutes. Cleaned up work area.
Excellent service
Customer had a Moen positemp shower valve that had a handle that was severely sticking. Replaced the cartridge. Left customer price for a new heater and Prv due to age and condition of water heater, as well as high pressure in the home. Tested all work to ensure proper function and no leaks. None were found.
Diagnosed all plumbing issues and left estimates for repairs.

I spent my Sunday drying floors and draining my broken water heater and was referred to Chen Plumbing by my parents who had Tim replace a couple water heaters and performed service and repairs over their decades in their home. I requested service on Chen Plumbing's website once I had the leaks under control. I received a call within an hour for options to come immediately or the next morning. Dawson arrived early Monday morning, quickly diagnosed the problem, provided a reasonable quote, and had the install completed by lunch - and was a marked improvement over the previous system and job. They left the utility closet in better and cleaner shape than it was before my water heater broke. I would highly recommend Chen Plumbing, and Dawson!
That’s a tough situation to deal with, especially on a Sunday. You handled a lot before we even got there. We really appreciate you trusting us, especially with your parents having a long history with Tim and our team. That means a lot. Dawson will be glad to hear this. He takes pride in doing things the right way and taking care of people, not just fixing the problem. Glad we could get you taken care of quickly and leave things better than we found them. Thank you for the recommendation.
