Customers hosebibb needed replacement. Replaced hose Bibb and secured to wall. Checked for leaks and proper function.
Customer had a leaking from the t&p valve on a water heater from August of 2014. Recommended replacement due to age of heater. Customer approved work for new water heater and gas line upgrade due to copper gas lines no longer meeting code requirements. Tested all work to ensure proper function and no leaks.
Very responsive and good guy. He remembered prior service visit here
Customer had garbage disposal go back and leak out side of disposal. Suggested to replace disposal to fix issue. Also found heater of 2008. Inside bedroom closet. Recommended to replace due to age and location of heater. After replacement of heater and thermal expansion tank with new bracket, checked for leaks and proper function. Took of trim to get heater installed in closet. Put back trim and recauked trim. Checked with customer for satisfaction of trim replacement.
Call to perform quoted work. Drained and removed failed gas water heater in basement. Old unit did not have expansion tank mounting bracket or drip pan. Installed new 50 gallon gas water heater. Thermal expansion tank installed and mounted to bracket. Drip pan installed under unit. Pressurized unit, set to same temperature s previous unit. Installation sticker pl ed on unit with install date. I also wrote notes on the unit at Ms. Melinda’s request, specifically mentioning when to replace pressure regulating valve, where to flush and how often, and what the pressure is currently set to. Flushed all hot water lines by running water at full capacity to help remove any residual discolored water from lines. As a courtesy, I replaced the yellow seal on an upstairs Kohler toilet. Notes for plumber: steep hill, carpet floors and finished basement. Copper water lines. No drip pan present. Melinda: I recommend contact Kohler to ask about warranty replacement for daughters bathroom vanit
Came out for various issues. Customer was getting rust in their toilets. Water pressure was in normal range but they wanted it increased. Water heater was from 2012. House still had the original galvanized water service. Left quote to replace the water service. Installed sediment filter after the PRV on the crawlspace. Removed water heater from garage and capped off plumbing. Installed new 50 gallon lowboy electric water heater in crawlspace. Connected piping and filled water heater. Homeowner is having an electrician connect the power for it. Adjusted water pressure to 75 psi. Ensured a leak free installation. Left 1 extra replacement filter for the sediment filter. Filter needs to be replaced every 3 months. No further issue at this time.
Technician: Shawn Call for several plumbing issues. Arrived and met with Billy. He gave me an overview of the home and current issues and concerns. Supply line in garage utility sink has broken. Water near toilet in master bathroom. And bad odor from dishwasher and from washing machine. Major remodel performed in 2012-2013 timeframe, with the master bathroom and laundry being an addition to home with new plumbing. New water service has been ran recently, from meter to home. Dishwasher is very new, less than one year. Kitchen plumbing has been replumbed with pvc and copper. While investigating concerns I found the following: Galvanized main line was replaced with plastic line, but pressure regulating valve has not been replaced. Pressure read over 100psi. Water heater is 11 years old. Thermal expansion tank bladder has flattened and is no longer functioning. Pluming up inside home is mostly pvc and copper, with some remaining cast iron. Toilets in new addition do have the gray specks
Fixed busted copper pipe inside wall behind toilet , opening wall in hallway , replaced pipe with new copper pipe to toilet with new shut off valve and supply line
Customer states that they needed to copper lines capped with propress fittings today and called us to come out and do the work. Upon arrival customer meet me in the loading dock area and took me to the mechanical room of the 8th floor where the two lines are located. After inspection I offered the solution he was looking for and agreed to cap the two lines. Had go to the shop and pick up the big propress and fittings then I returned to the loading dock and waited for them to come and let me in the building. I cut out two sections on the first pipe prepped it and then pressed the cap on and same thing on the other pipe. After capping them they tested the caps by running water and they work properly no leaks or issues and customer is satisfied with the service provided.
Customer experience, no hot water , tankless water heater was throwing cold, a form customer the parts would need to be ordered and replaced left estimate to do so as well as flush heaters. Customer will order parts.
Excellent Service!!
Call for toilet not flushing. Mr. Harrison states that the toilet is overflowing, and won’t flush. Water was turned off to unit to stop overflow. Arrived and used plunger on site to clear localized blockage. Removed failed flapper and installed new two inch flapper, adjusting chain to appropriate level. Toilet is an older Kohler 1.6 gallon flush toilet. Due to age and condition, toilet should be rebuilt or replaced soon. As other gaskets or components have a risk of failing. I recommend contacting water service provider to request bill adjustment, as toilet has been silently running for some time. Service Technician: Shawn
Call for leak at water heater. Arrived and spoke with Scott. Inspected water heater and found unit was ruptured from interior tank. Pressure was incredibly high, ~140psi at 4pm. Prv was located in a very difficult to reach position under the water heater. Install new 50 gallon gas water heater. This includes the additional installation of a shut off valve valve, thermal expansion tank and mounting bracket, and vent correction. A drain pan will be added in and discharge to existing low point in garage. Pressure regulating valve installed valve will be replaced, and relocated to be accessible for inspection and future repairs. This included more time and material than normally required for a prv replacement. Shut off valve is labeled for quick access. Unit is lit. I discussed all work with Scott and ensured he is happy with all work completed.
Found there was a whole bottom of P-trap adjacent to where yesterday ran a snake through. Found that more piping was broken so cut into tile and replaced section of pipe and also replaced P-trap. Tested and no leaks were present at this time. Cleaned up work area. Chen plumbing will not be responsible for any tile repair
Client called us out today due to the ice maker machine drain spewing out water from what is supposed to be a vent for it to drain. The line had 2 vents for some reason, and the lower one is the culprit, which is logical as it is not supposed to be there since there’s one directly off the top. We capped that additional drain vent on 1/2” pex and client should be good to go. Also. Resealed hand wash sink strainer and added longer extension tube. Tested no leaks. Charged card on file, Emailed invoice.
Repiped some sections of Cpvc hot and cold piping in crawlspace to remove all of the slow dripping fittings. Waited for glue to cure before testing. No further issue at this time. Very old tankless water heater. Left quote to replace.
Wet spot in wooded area in the back yard. Checked water meter to confirm no leak. We have gotten rain a few times in the last week. They have irrigation system back in the wooded area. Recommended they leave it off for a couple weeks and see if it goes away. If it does not I left a quote for an exploratory dig in the area to check things out. Very Small amount of water pooling in the dirt. No sign of actively flowing from anywhere.
Call for water on basement floor. Arrived and discussed concern with Ms. Christina. She mentioned noticing a spot on the floor in the basement. She promptly called an hvac company to inspect, as her hvac unit is on the opposite side of the nearest wall. When they were unable to identify source of problem she contacted Chen plumbing. Upon inspection, the tankless water heater was found to have a burst pipe that resulted in water spilling on to floor, and under unit. Tankless is a Navien, six years old, and no other issues identified. Pressure on home is 50 psi. Condensation discharge line repiped and installed a ph neutralizer with bypass. New hose spigot installed on front of house. Tested all work, checked for leaks. Cleaned work site and walked Mr Stern through the work.
Customer stated that lavatory faucet wasn’t draining. Gave customer price to get lavatory faucet back up and draining and customer agreed. Went ahead and took apart P-trap and ran snake to clear blockage. Reconnected drain back together and tested. Now lavatory faucet is draining as it should cleaned up work area. When testing drain before work noticed leak underneath at pop-up assembly and tightened and it fixed leak. Chen plumbing does not warranty drain cleaning.
Customer had leak that showed up in the ceiling of the dining room. Upstairs toilet stop valve had slow leak out of the stem when open. Toilet also was over 10 years old and wax ring was dry. Received approval to pull toilet and replace stop valve. Tested to ensure a leak free install. She had another small leak showing up in the ceiling on the other side of the dining room, very decorative trim. They’re going to have someone come remove the trim and open the ceiling to inspect for a leak. No sign of a leak from the plumbing above. Will return to inspect once it’s been opened.
Homeowner states that the master bathroom lavatory faucet right side wasn’t working properly didn’t have any water pressure and the other one left side worked properly. Upon arrival homeowner showed me the master bathroom wall mounted faucet it didn’t have any water pressure and would just open with a small stream of water. I did my inspection and didn’t find anything else wrong so I offered homeowner some solutions and she agreed for me to repair it. I took it apart and cleaned the faucet and cartridge and it was the faucet head that had a lot debris in the flow restrictor so I cleaned it out and it had a lot minerals and some blue teflon which covered one of the holes. Once I cleaned it out and added new tape and dope I replaced it and turned the water back on. I turned it on and it works properly no issues or leaks and homeowner is satisfied with the service provided.
Homeowner states that the kitchen faucet was leaking from the hot side and shut it off and bought a new kitchen faucet. Upon arrival homeowner greeted me at door and showed me the kitchen faucet and the new one she had purchased and asked me to replace it. I agreed and she also agreed to the solution and I did my inspection and didn’t find anything else wrong except an old saddle valve that will need to be removed at some point on the EWH cold side above old shut off which I did inform homeowner and they will do at a later time. I began by shutting off the water and removing the old kitchen faucet along with the supply lines and cleaned the holes. I then placed the new faucet and tightened down the screws on the underside and connected new supply lines. Once I had it properly connected I turned on the water and it works properly and I tightened down all the set screws on the faucet. The water pressure is a bit low which homeowner is aware of and they decided to increase the pressure at
Customer stated that there was a leak coming from ceiling in kitchen and that also there is a sewage smell up stairs. Pulled up ceiling tile and found that there was a drip coming from 3in pvc and also from sub floor from above. Upstairs found that toilet was moving and had lots of caulking around it and recommend to have it pulled and reseted. Pulled up toilet and flooring was wet and also that flange was sitting to high off floor and that flange has been repaired. Recommend to have flanged replaced. Replaced flange and secured it at the correct height. Reset toilet and tested. Didn’t notice leaks around base of toilet but downstairs in kitchen there is a drip still coming from 3in PVC. Recommended as next step is to move the soda machine to have better access to see exactly what’s leaking. Potentially drain line may be leaking sewage into kitchen area and recommend to have leak fix asap. Cleaned up work area.
Customer had old tub filler he had removed all of the trim for and bought a new tub filler. Hole he cut in the drywall was too small for us to access the fixture. We tried to remove the front panel but it cracked during the removal process. Installed two stop valves under the whirlpool tub and installed new faucet. No further issue at this time.
Homeowner states that she recently moved in and was notified that her pressure was high so she called us to come out and fix it. Upon arrival I was greeted by homeowner at door and she explained the situation and first showed me the crawl space where the PRV and EWH is located. Then we proceeded to the master bathroom where the toilet was leaking and they replaced fill valve but kept it shut off. Finally the last issue was the tub spout that would leak when used and didn’t properly shut off when using the shower head. Homeowner agreed to replace the PRV and the tub spout. I began by removing the old and installing a new shut off and PRV. Once I was done I turned the water back on and it works properly no leaks or issues. I then proceeded to replace the tub spout and installed it and caulked around the edge and wall. I tested it and works properly and finally I checked the leaking toilet and it just had the fill valve gasket on the bottom instead of inside the tank. I removed and instal
Faucet that I repaired by replacing cold cartridge found leak underneath handle. Recommended to customer to have faucet replaced. Customer agrees, I went ahead and installed faucet that we purchased from Home Depot. Tested and no leaks were presented at this time. Also credited back previous work.
we were called out to a slow drip on a copper pipe in the customers basement after a thorough evaluation we identified a pinhole leak near an area where a hanger had been installed. We informed the customer and provided a repair estimate which they approved while onsite we also noted that the water heaters were extremely old and that the water pressure was higher than recommended. After reviewing our company service history ,we found that the pressure reducing valve PRV had been replaced less than a year ago. we informed the customer that the PRV was still under warranty and we replaced it at no additional cost adjusting the pressure to a safe level. We advised the customer that their water heaters were likely due for replacement soon as they were multiple code violations present the customer understood and requested that we send quotes for the water heater replacements via email.
