Job Locations and Reviews
Chase & colleague came for the first problem, but 2 days later he came back when we realized it wasn’t fully resolved and finished the job. Liked that we had consistency in the plumber; no need to re-explain everything. When a new unrelated issue arose the next day, Chase was back. He and his workmate spent the day fixing a system problem, and gave us a referral for the restoration that would be required. Chase was a good communicator. I can’t really speak to Chen’s pricing question: all but the first problem (clogged sink) needed immediate help, so we didn’t call around for price quotes.
Sewer line separated in crawlspace upon arrival. Customer stated she heard water running the night prior and found a pipe separation in the crawlspace. Informed customer we could cut out and replace that section of pipe. Gave customer estimate, customer approved estimate. Cut out bad section of pvc and replaced it with a new section. Flushed toilet to make sure glue joints were good, everything is flowing and working properly. No leaks upon departure
Customer had a toilet (in the hallway) that was clogged, but customer was able to plunge to clear the stoppage. No further attention needed at this time. The piping beneath that bathroom is pvc. Customer had concerns over a loose trip lever in hall toilet. Found the nut was unthreaded in the bottom of the tank. Retightened the nut to keep it in place. Toilet is working properly. Noted to customer a failed thermal expansion tank that was unstrapped on Cpvc. Informed customer this is dangerous since it can cause the pipe to break. Replaced the thermal expansion tank, strapped it properly, and tested work to ensure proper function and no leaks. Customer has a Kohler toilet in the primary bedroom that is running. Replaced the red Kohler ring as a courtesy in conjunction with the other work so that water wasn’t running in the middle of the night anymore. Left customer a quote for a full rebuild or replacement of the hall bath.
Returned for kitchen sink being stopped up again. Informed customer we could jet it this time to clear out all the grease. Gave customer estimate. Customer approved estimate. Ran jetter from roof to clean out in the yard. Cleared a bunch of grease from the line. Filled up both sides of the sink, the sink is now draining properly and no longer backing up. Drains are working properly upon departure
For the annual maintenance check for this customer, we flushed the water heater and we also did a scope of the sewer line set the water heater back to the correct temperature once it was flushed out properly drained did a full sewer scope of the entire line, didn’t notice any bellies or cracks or roots in the line went all the way down to the county line about 90 feet video is uploaded. I recommend getting the shower valve in the master bathroom replaced, just due to the condition of it however it is not necessary at this time. Also the master bathroom P-trap is an S trap and I recommend getting that replaced as well to bring it up to code compliance.
Did what they said they would do: call, texted arrival time; gave me an estimate and waited for my approval before starting. We also discussed what we could do to avoid this problem in the future.
Kitchen sink clogged upon arrival. Customer stated the sink has been clogged for 3 days. Customer stated it will drain just very slowly. Informed customer we could run a cable through the line. Gave customer estimate. Customer approved estimate. Ran cable 25 ft out hit two blockages but cleared both. Sink is no longer backing up upon departure.
For this job, CUSTOMER called us out for a wobbly toilet tank. The customer attempted to put the tank bolts on himself however he did do that and made a seal but without a tight seal so the rubber gasket would leak out because not all the sea seals were perfectly seated Not only that the rubber gaskets were in the wrong spot so there was a couple ways that I could go about doing the repair, I could do a minor rebuild and fix his mistake in the process of it with that in giving it would be done the correct way with a warranty. Or we could replace the toilet either Chen plumbing supplied or customer supplied the customer wants to think about their options of what we can do for them before we begin. They’re leaning more towards replacing the entire toilet and if that is the case, they will call us back to do so.
Shane was very pleasant and got the job completed in a short amount of time. He pointed out a couple of additional problems that needed attention. I will definitely call Chen Plumbing back for future work.
For this customer went ahead and replaced the tub overflow cover and the tub drain flange in chrome once installed the new one there are no leaks. The water pressure is at 70 psi did not see a pressure reducing valve in the house. It could’ve been outside. The water heater is from 2013. Recommended to replace it sooner than later the thermal expansion tank is bad. Made a note of that for the CUSTOMER CUSTOMER is thinking about going through their home warranty to get it fixed or replaced at this time. There are no further issues with the tub drain no leaks used potty to seal it. No further issues at this present moment.

Call for issues under kitchen sink and to install filter and faucet. Discussed concerns and work with Ms. Adelle. She would like a new filter faucet installed and has already drilled the hole in her sink. The dishwasher wasn’t draining. Some of the shut offs don’t work, and one was leaking. Today, we installed the provided faucet and filter in the kitchen. We also replaced the shut off valve for the dishwasher, the hot side for the faucet, cold side for the fridge ice maker, and repiped section to accommodate the new filter. I changed the dishwasher drain to the disposal. Replaced the supply lines for the washing machine.
Call for issue with shower diverter. I spoke with Ms. Paula, and she expressed frustration after a recent repair performed on the master bathroom shower system. She provided a diverter for a three handle shower, and the system is not functioning correctly after we installed the diverter. I inspected the shower and found that the diverter may not be intended only for this shower valve, and it can consistently demonstrate water hammer, or even fail to cycle to open or closed, when testing. I removed and cleaned debris from the brass body, and from the diverter. Due to the age and condition of the valve, I recommend replacing the entire valve. However, to demonstrate our commitment to excellent customer service, I am willing to return and install a new diverter if the diverter can be replaced under warranty, or if an original fit diverter can be verified and located. Ms. Paula stated she would prefer to replace the shower valve. When discussing leaks and reputable companies, we also
Customer had leaking water heater in the garage of the home. Heater is from 2010 and is past retirement age in addition to the leaking. Checked house pressure at 85 psi. This is too high to be considered a safe install for a new heater. Left price for a new heater, prv, and expansion tank.
Christian was polite and professional and made a good recommendation for my kitchen faucet leak. He fixed it quickly and offered to put everything back under the cabinets. I will use Chen in the future.
Upon arrival customer stated there was water coming from underneath her dishwasher. I found that the leak was coming the faucet hose line for the sprayer. I informed the customer we would have to replace the whole faucet. Gave customer estimate to replace the faucet. Customer approved the estimate. I started by taking out the old faucet. Then I installed the new faucet. Tested the faucet and the faucet is working properly with no leaks or issues. I did find that the stop for the dishwasher was leaking I was able to get the stop valve to stop leaking. I informed the customer and also left the customer with an estimate to replace. Customer stated if it starts to leak again she will call us back to replace it.
Replaced 50 gallon electric water heater in the basement. Hauled off old tank. Confirmed proper function of water heater before leaving. Set expansion tank to 55 psi.
Customer stated that garbage disposal would drain properly. Found that disposal and other side of sink were draining through two different lines. Ended up cutting into garbage disposal, drain and capping it and connecting garbage disposal, drain to other side of sink. Tested and no leaks were present at this time. And everything was draining as it should. Cleaned up work area. Work done today will be no warranty due to temporary/Band-Aid repair.
Tightened down kitchen faucet and recommend customer to have kitchen faucet replaced. Tub upstairs installed customer supply diverter, and tested. No leaks were present at this time.
Simon was very professional and although the issue wasn’t specifically a plumbing issue, he showed me the problem and gave me the information I need to move forward on getting it fixed.
Customer stated that there was a leak under bathroom area in crawlspace. Crawled into crawlspace and found that there is water markings near shower area. Looked around in bathroom and it issue appears to be due to grout failure in shower. Recommended customer to reliable restoration.
Customers, thermal expansion tank had busted off solder joint and flooded crawlspace. Customer shut down water to home and cleaned up water access. Customer already has functioning thermal expansion tank. Advise customer of leaking PRV and shut off valve. Customer approved estimate for replacement of main shut off, PRV and three-quarter inch copper repair. Discussed future of property and drain system with customer and showed how to shut off at meter.
Replaced Prv , Rheem gas valve , pilot / burner assembly all together

Performed comprehensive gas line inspection in Clarkston this morning. Homeowner requested safety check before winter heating season. Used electronic leak detector to test all connections from meter to appliances. Found minor leak at water heater connection and loose fitting at stove. Tightened connections and re-tested entire system. Chen Plumbing's gas line inspection service ensures Clarkston families stay safe. All gas appliances now operating within proper pressure ranges.
Upon arrival customer stated they were getting a sewer smell in the whole house and also stated that it happens at night. When through crawlspace to check sewer line and also when into the attic to check the sewer vents. Informed customer that we would have to do a smoke test. Customer stated he would talk to his wife and get back to us.

Upon arrival customer stated they were having trouble with the kitchen sink draining slow and then backing up into a sink in the basement. Gave customer estimate to clear blockage. Also informed customer that it was an attempt to clear it and we would have to jet the line if we’re not able to clear it. Customer approved estimate. Tried clearing the drain and was unsuccessful.
