Excellent service
Customer stated that shower was having high-pressure. Stated to customer that shower has better flow since Cody cleaned out all debris inside showerhead. Also stated a customer that if the pressure is too much, she can replace the showerhead and with the new flow restrictions in the new showerhead the flow will be lower. Also test water pressure water pressure was at 70 psi lowered it to about 60 to 65 psi. Also mention Chen membership to customer.
Returned to install customer supplied parts for Rheem tankless. Installed new motherboard and new blower motor. Reconnected all wires on the new motherboard and fired up unit. Unit is no longer throwing error code and the customer has hot water again. Unit is working properly and no leaks upon departure
Customer had an appliance company come to install a new dishwasher and they stated they couldn’t due to the shutoff and drain not being in the same floor. Cut and capped the drain and water line below, and installed a new stop and dishwasher wye under the kitchen sink. Tested all work to ensure proper function and no leaks, none were found.
Revised quotes
Came out today to complete the work previously quoted. We repiped the newly installed by another contractor nat gas water heater, adding new ball valve shutoff and proper support for the thermal expansion tank per code. Got rid of the 2 leaky valves by the water heater on cold side. We also got rid of the copper gas line as it is not allowed anymore, and replaced with a coated gas flex per code. The water pressure on the home was over 100 psi with the safe range being 50-79 psi. To resolve this issue, we replaced the failed pressure reducing valve in that same room as the water heater with new 3/4” watts pressure reducing valve, and set home pressure to 60 psi. As far as the leaking ice maker line from before. I pulled the fridge out to see what would be needed to run a new line for the ice maker, and found the old copper line was capped and not hooked up to anything. No further work needed there until client decides they want to add an ice maker box/shutoff. All work has 1 yr war
Came out today to replace the 50 gal nat gas water heater in garage. We took off old stand, and sat new unit on ground in a drain pan per code. We replaced the old ball valve shutoff with new ball valve, replaced the thermal expansion tank with new properly supported thermal expansion tank. Also replaced the gas fittings and installed proper coated gas flex. We also replaced the old 3/4” pressure reducing valve on the main water line coming into home and feeding the rest of the home. Tested all connections, no issue and water heater is running as it should be. 6 yr manufacturer warranty 2 yr parts and labor on water heater 1 yr parts and labor warranty on pressure reducing valve Water heater inspection scheduled for next Tuesday 12/23/25 $300 credit added to account.
They are very fast! Chase and Christian came out the same day I called. They are very thorough and truly care about their work. Im very happy with them. Highly recommended!
Thank you for the kind review, Cindy. We are glad Chase and Christian were able to come out quickly and take great care of everything. It means a lot to know you were happy with the service.
Came out to property for various leaks on the water system inside the home. There was a leak coming from the attic causing some damage to the ceiling below. There were 2 leaks on the cold side of the Week old water heater, one on the ice maker shutoff valve, and one on the cold water shutoff to the water heater. We checked homes water pressure and it was almost 100 psi, which is a good bit higher than that 79 psi threshold. Safe range is 50-79 psi. To correct this pressure issue, the pressure reducing valve in the garage closet where water heater is will to be replaced. The 2 leaks on the water heater should have been replaced with the week old water heater, but evidently were not. Also the gas line for the water heater is copper, and should not be copper per code. Left estimates to replace the failed pressure reducing valve and also to repipe that cold side of the new water heater with proper fittings and valves. Today we got the leak in the attic stopped. I cut out the ice maker
Rheem tankless not working upon arrival. Customer stated they are no longer getting hot water. After getting unit to fire up found the tankless throwing error code 61. Informed customer we could take the blower motor out and make sure there were no obstructions and reinstall it to test it. Gave customer estimate to clean blower motor. Customer approved estimate. Uninstalled and reinstalled blower motor and tested system. System was still throwing error code 61. Called Rheem tech support and they stated they would send a new mother board and a new blower motor. Informed customer it would be an additional $485 to install the parts. Informed customer we would honor the membership for the full $1,100 if she wanted to the next time so that new price for installing the new parts would be $385 plus the $20 for the first month of the membership.
Customer had low flow in the upstairs and had concerns over Grundfos recirculation pump making noise. Informed the customer after completing diagnosis that the upstairs aerators and shower head were heavily clogged. Removed the debris to restore flow. Turned the pressure in the house up to 70 per customer request and installed a tee and valve after the Grundfos pump to properly bleed the air from the system (the existing system didn’t have a way to safely bleed the air). This was done because the pump was airlocked and not quickly bringing water upstairs. Installed the tee as a courtesy to the customer. Customer was concerned the pump would need replacement but this is not necessary at this time since the pump is only a few years old. Went over all finding and work done with the customer. Ensured customers questions were answered and concerns were addressed. Customer was satisfied with both the findings and the solutions.
Customer had a leak in basement coming from one inch double union prv. Checked house pressure at 120+ psi. Tested the thermal and it had failed. Noted to customer that the water heater was over 10 years old. Recommended proactive replacement of the heater, a new thermal expansion tank, and a new 3/4 prv. Customer approved. Installed a new heater, thermal, and shutoff in the garage. Reconnected to the existing line for the return line. Installed a new prv in the basement. Tested all work to ensure proper function and no leaks. None were found.
Came out today to look at the 25 yr old 40 gal short model nat gas water heater on a stand in garage. No active leaks on water heater, but home water pressure is almost 120 psi which is much higher than the safe range of 50-79 psi. While replacing the water heater the pressure reducing valve will need to be replaced to keep the warranty on the new water heater in tact. Emailed estimates. Client will need to let us know when they decide to replace the water heater a couple days ahead of time, and we can get the permit pulled for the water heater. If permit is pulled, we may have to replace the vent piping for the water heater up into the attic, as the way it is currently is not “technically” up to code, but it is fully and safely functional. This would be additional cost on the customer if so. Extended 4 yr tank warranty available for $400 additional to current quote. Free estimate.
Fantastic Service!
Customer stated that she was having a high water bill. Recommended to customer to have all toilets checked in customer agreed. Put dying into all toilets and also shut off water and spotted meter and didn’t notice any water leaking from the toilets nor from the main waterline. Eventually found toilet on bottom floor near kitchen was running. Found that house has two incoming waterlines one waterline that just services the bathroom downstairs and another one that services the rest of the house. Gave customer options for repairs on toilet and customer agreed to cap off-line going to bathroom on main floor. Tested and no leaks present at this time. Bathroom on main floor will not be able to work because water is capped, but in future can be reconnected. Also, this was first step and diagnosing high water bill.
Water heater and pressure valve installed with professionalism and clean job site!
Replaced a old 50 gallon, gas water heater , expansion tank , Pan , new shut off valve for water and gas , new flexible connector , new Prv installed
A very wonderful experience with the team! Professional and efficient- so happy with my new hot water heater. Thank you!
Kimberley, thank you for taking the time to share this. We’re glad to hear everything went smoothly and that you’re happy with your new water heater. We appreciate you choosing Chen Plumbing and are here anytime you need us.
We were called out to address a leaking 40 gallon water heater. Upon arrival. We conducted a thorough evaluation and determined that the existing unit was irreparable and needed replacement after the customer approved the replacement we proceed with the installation of a new unit. Any required code upgrades were addressed, and we thoroughly tested the system to ensure everything was functioning correctly. The job is now complete and everything is working as intended.
Came out for water heater not working. Was able to get the water heater lit, but the tank was from 2010. Customer elected to still replace the tank due to the age. Water pressure was at 100 psi. Received approval to replace the PRV as well. Set new pressure to 50 psi. Ensured proper function and a leak free install. No further issue at this time. Thank you for choosing Chen plumbing.
Sewer repair with excavator digging , installed two way clean out
Customer stated that there was a leak coming from were they made water connection to fridge. Found that leak was coming from existing supply line and recommended customer to have it replaced. At this time customer didn’t want to move forward with any work. Also tested water pressure to home and it tested fine. Found that thermal expansion tank was still working properly but not properly supported and recommend to have it replaced and properly supported.
Ran sewer machine and managed to clear a soft tissue clog thru a pulled toilet. I started by snaking a drain line and ran the sewer machine through but didn’t do anything the first try. I pulled it back and ran it a second time but the water level started lowering around 35 to 40 ft. And kept running the snake back and forth until the snake broke up the soft tissue clog thru and pulled back some tissue. Ran the shower and flushed the toilets a few times to ensure that it is working properly which it is and homeowner is satisfied with the service provided.
Homeowner states that they noticed water leaking from the ground driveway where it isn’t paved and turned off the main water line and called us out to fix the issue. Upon arrival homeowner was outside and greeted me and explained that the situation became worse over the few hours due to them using the water to shower and then the basement flooded with sewer water. They told me they turned on the water and used the tub to shower and when they got done and went to the basement it was flooded and the bathrooms were full of sewer water. They told me that the septic tank was pumped out over a year ago and didn’t have any issues until now. I suggested to them either a band aid fix for the water line or a full water line replacement and showed them the difference in cost and what is needed. For the bandaid fix we need a leak detection and then once it’s located we dig and repair the section and we only warranty the new section of pipe if any other areas leak even if it’s an inch away from whe
Main level hallway toilet is kept running continuously. Replaced fill valve, flapper still very new did not replace flapper. Basement standing shower valve and handle is very loose. Courtesy service tighten up all the connection for the customer. No more leak or loose.
We were called out to an overflowing laundry drain After attempting to snake the line on the block was persistent. Therefore, the customer approved using a high-pressure Jetter to fully clear the line we completed the jetting and ensured line was properly flowing before wrapping up that portion of the job. While on site noticed water pressure to be extremely high at 130 psi , informed customer and customer approved replacement, replaced prv and left at a safe level. Also advised customer that thermal expansion tank had failed on water heater and water heater was nearing the end of its life. Customer understands and chose not to proceed with replacement. All work is completed and tested
Quoted two bathroom plumbing work today
Customer stated that washing machine wasn’t draining properly. Get customer price to run snake through drain and customer agreed. Ran snake through drain. Afterwards tested by running two loads and dumping bunch of water down pipe and wasn’t noticing any backing up. At time of departure washing machine was draining as it should cleaned up work area.
Upon arrival customer stated they was leak that comes out by there basement door. I informed the customer we would have to cut a hole in the wall to see where the leak is coming from. Gave customer estimate to cut the hole and search for the leak. Customer approved the estimate. I cut a hole and found that the sewer line was leaking. I informed the customer I would have to cut out a section of pipe and install a new section to fix the leak. Gave customer estimate. Customer did not approve the estimate. Customer stated he is having someone else to come make the repair.
Plumbing
Matthew from Chen Plumbing provided great service. He is very detailed with his information and is generous with his time and knowledge. He did a wonderful job replacing 6 stops and checking for leaks.
Matthew with Chen Plumbing is super detailed and does great work. He is considerate and generous with his knowledge and time.
Cristina, we really appreciate you taking the time to highlight Matthew’s work. He’s dedicated to providing detailed, quality service, and it’s great to know that came through during your visit.
Simeon was very courteous knowledgeable and experienced. We do still have a slight drip from the faucet in the tub which Simeon explained that we might have. We will except this until we decide to go to single lever faucet.
Cody arrived with a ready to solve attitude and after diagnosing that a new install versus a repair on my 23 yr old water heater was the way to go, rolled up his sleeves and got to work. As I checked on the work, we had conversation on what was being done and why. He didn't talk over me in a technical manner, but met me on my level on the why and how he was doing what he was doing. It was a great experience.
I've been using Chen Plumbing for over seven years. The work is always excellent. This was as well. A suggestion: when wall board must be cut, offer the customer a choice to seal the hole on their own, or cut the hole a standard size to install an access door. Carry access doors in the truck. Less stressful for the customer, and no issue trying to then find a dependable repair person.
Hey Alan, thank you for being such a loyal customer over the years — we truly appreciate your trust in us. We’re glad to hear the work met your expectations again, and thank you for your suggestion and feedback.
Matthew was knowledgeable, explained the issues well and addressed the problem; went an extra mile to address the problem encountered along the way!
Repair service
All of the above. Job was done professionally but at a price. Expensive. Years ago when business was sole prop replacing a faucet with no complications (customer owned parts) cost was $150. This same job cost us close to $400. Granted it was years ago but cost just a few dollars less than other plumbing companies who do same quality work. We’ll still call them for future plumbing work but just being honest with cost.
Very helpful and informative
Professional and pleasant. Took care of what needed to be done. Checked for other potential issues.
Thankful that they were able to work me in within 24 hours. Simeon did a great job and was very thorough and professional.
When purchasing a new washer/dryer, we discovered a problem with the water connections that had to be repaired before installing the new appliances. We also had had a problem on and off for years with the drain system of the washer. Tim Chen to the rescue. He came in, assessed the problems and went to work. Cleaned everything up after his work, very professional and courteous. We’ve used several companies over the years who were just “okay”. No more of that - will be calling Tim Chen when problems arise.
Tim and his helper the very best! Extremely professional, knowledgeable and with a lot of personality. I’ll never call anyone else.
Thank you Chen Plumbing! Your team came in and got straight to it. Pricing was reasonable and the team were super knowledgeable. Thanks again!
