Rodents chewed through pex inside wall to hose bib. Replaced hose bib and piping with copper. No warranty for rodent damage. Spray foamed around the pipe to try and keep them away.

Returned and reworked pipe to install a hpprv behind the standard prv. Tested all work to ensure proper function and no leaks. Set house pressure to 65 psi per customer request. Cut pex to 3.25 inch pieces when putting together to allow for manufacturer required distance between fittings.

Customer had 127 psi on the regulated side of house pressure. New Flo by Moen was alerting him for the pressure. Thermal expansion tank was still good, but prv was only 6 years old. Suspected high street pressure. Checked front hose bib at 140 psi coming from the street. Informed customer that cutting in a high pressure prv before the standard prv is recommended for the overall longevity of the prv. Installed a standard prv to regulated the pressure temporarily and will return to cut in high pressure prv when part is located and ordered. Set house pressure to 55 psi.

Juan from Chen Plumbing did a great job on replacing our main line. He was very knowledgeable, professional and easy to work with. He showed up on time and cleaned up his mess, including repairing the yard when he was done. He also thoroughly investigated and explained the issues and fixes to us ahead of time. Afterwards he again walked us through what was done, explaining and showing us the changes. He also noticed some issues with our irrigation system and was able to make some small fixes free of charge. This is the 2nd time weve called Chen Plumbing for a big issue on our house. Both times weve been very pleased with the professionalism, responsiveness and knowledge of the plumbers who worked with us. Would definitely recommend them and will call them again if needed in the future.

Today we had a leak in basement. Mr. Chen can a week ago and put in new pipe in front yard. It was expensive but the job was good. Today we called again. He was in and out in about an hour and the cost was more than I expected. Very high for work he did. As a good customer I thought he would give a small discount since it’s been so soon since the last leak.
