Job Locations and Reviews
Cody A. did a phenomenal job. Very communicative and efficient. He guided us through each step and obviously took his work very seriously. He answered all questions and ensured we felt confident in the work taking place. Our garage space (where the work took place) was left neat and clean as well, which I appreciate so much. I am also grateful to Christian M., who worked with Cody at our house on this project. Both gentlemen did a fantastic job. Chen Plumbing has a great team.

Customer. had 4 inch cast-iron under slab causing frequent stoppages. decided to redirect line through garage and tie back to existing line in crawlspace. Added clean out T in crawlspace. Had saw cut for concrete in garage. Put back dirt to correct level for concrete. approximately 30 foot of 4 inch PVC after install was done ran water in all areas of the house to check for proper function and leaks

Customer stated that they needed utility sink and laundry room installed. Give customer quote and customer agreed to estimate. Installed customer supplied utility sink and utility faucet. Rework drain and waterlines. Tested for proper operation and leaks. Everything was working as it should and no leaks were present at this time cleaned up work area.

Client called us out to check out a couple different issues. The upstairs hall bathroom bathtub spout had just pulled off the threads, as the threads were rusted and gone. 3 handle tub/shower valve original with the home, that is constantly leaking. We ended up replacing that tub spout and added a new male adaptor for it to screw to. Once it was secured we caulked behind the spout to waterproof. Advised client not to use for 12-24 hrs. That same bathtub drain was very slow draining, as the home is still all cast iron drains. Client has had it snaked recently and didn’t want to have to keep doing that. Best, least intrusive option was to replace that 2” waste arm below with new pvc piping, and also a new waste and overflow kit with a new 2” ptrap. Once all work was finished we tested all work. All work we did looks good and no issues. 1 yr parts and labor warranty.
Great!

Customer agreed to fix a few of the issues that I wrote down and sent to him which includes two new hose bibs the gas pipe for the GWH and a few pipe repairs. I began with turning off the home water and installed a new whole home shut off and then removed the hose bib next to it and installed a new one with pex pipe. Once it was secured I moved to repair the leaking saddle valve which I removed cut the pipe and installed a repair coupling and pressed it. Then I proceeded to remove another saddle valve located above the GWH and did the same process removed it cut and installed a coupling g with a stop. Then I replaced the hose bib that is located on back side of home and installed a new bib using pex pipe and pex adapters. Once it was secured in I turned on the water and no leaks or issues were found and I tested both hose bibs and added caulk to outside and secured them to the wall with anchors. Finally I replaced the copper gas pipe for the GWH with 1/2 CSST pipe and used two adapters

Client called us out today to check out some possible plumbing issues they noticed when the kitchen cabinets were pulled out due to some water damage mitigation they had done. There was a couple old abs drain lines that were no longer in use, and the one for the dishwasher was very rusted and actually just broke apart when removing it. Also, the copper water lines in the wall had a lot of corrosion as they are from the 70’s. We cut out all the exposed copper water lines we could see and replaced with new pex a water piping. Replaced the back hose bib and added ball valve shutoff under sink for it, per code. Installed new 1/2” pex a quarter turn stop valves for the hot and cold for kitchen sink and the hot for the dishwasher. Capped the 2 unused abs drain lines with fernco caps and tightened. Once all connections were made, we turned water to home back on and tested. All connections good, no leaks. Sealed around the new hose bib with caulking to waterproof and keep critters out. Home

Water line repair estimate

Customer had leak on copper line in basement. Replaced section of 3/4 and 1/2 copper to fix issues. Also checked pressure found pressure to be high and suggested to replace PRV with new ball valve. Later flushed tankless to descale system. Checked for leaks and proper function. Pressure is now at 60PSI.

Gave customer options to repair or replace water line. Customer wanted to wait for further work.
Customer had a broken toilet handle in guest hall bath. Replaced with a new trip lever in chrome. Tested for proper function and no leaks. Tightened the shower handles in the primary bath as a courtesy.
Price is to run jetter from pvc access in the crawlspace to attempt to clear the line. Price covers up to 2 hours of jetting. There is no clear visibility in pipes so any additional steps or necessary cleaning or repairs are unknown at this time. 9/10/25 Returned and ran jetter from the crawlspace piping through the cast section of pipe going out of the rear of the home. There was an excessive amount of grease that needed to be cleared. Cleared the grease and gently did a light descaling to help with the flow but not so much as to risk excessive damage to the piping. After running the camera, found a transition to ABS about 20 feet from the point of access in the crawlspace. It was at the transition that a cleanout was found buried about 6 inches below grade. Found what appeared to be a soft tissue stoppage and jetted it free. Had very low visibility due to water being held in the abs obstructing the majority of my view. Ran the camera 75 feet from the cleanout and found no further o

Diagnosed multiple leaks for customer and gave options for repairs and replacements

I returned today to install a new water service. Dug two holes and then I trenched both holes together. Then I ran the new water service with a ball valve and new meter box. I tested the system and system is working properly with no issues or leaks. After I made sure there was no leaks I backfilled the holes.
Returned and ran new pvc through the floor and connected it with a new AAV to existing temporary sink. Customer still didn’t have dimensions for the new cabinets, but simply requested to bring the new line out when the old one came out before. Drilled the penetration through the floor about 2.5-3 inches from the wall to leave room for drywall and the back of the cabinet. Abandoned the old cast vent to the roof and capped on the roof to not allow rain water to the caps below. Ran camera in pipe where it goes below the Crawlspace slab and was unable to push the camera far due to a grease blockage. Will return in the morning 9/10/25 to perform quoted work for jetting to clear the grease and perform the remaining camera work to inspect the overall health of the line.

Homeowner states that a day ago he was running water from the washer box down the drain and went to the basement and saw the wood had water marks that were very fresh and believed it was from the washer box drain and called us to see if that was the case. When I arrived homeowner showed me what he did and we went to the area in basement and the water marks were a lot closer to the kitchen sink drain then the washer box drain and I informed the homeowner. He ran the kitchen sink and the washer box hot side and I could not see any leaks or anything that could be causing the leak. I informed the homeowner to use a water restoration company to so they can attempt to find the leak since they have moisture meters and infrared cameras. Homeowner understands and will contact a company and unfortunately there is no signs of a drain or water leak so I cannot do anything at this moment.

Someone ran over meter causing line to crack. Main line is PVC replaced with uponor pex removed unnecessary joints. Work is thoroughly tested and complete.

Customer wanted two stops for hot and cold installed. Also basket strainer with trap set up. After install checked for leaks. Informed customer about high pressure.

Replace toilet Flange repair is not included furnished and installed toilet thoroughly tested toilet before ceiling around base.everything is working as intended before departure. Customer informed me that asbestos had been found in sections of drywall joint compound, work originally quoted for the tub and overflow replacement was quoted with access behind tub and would likely have to cut sheet rock due to the nature of cutting sheet rock with asbestos we cannot complete work we will provide customer with different options depending on Lab results from sheet rock samples taken by reliable restoration.

Homeowner states that she doesn’t have hot water since about a day ago and wanted to know if it could be fixed or not and called us. Upon arrival homeowner greeted on driveway and showed me the GWH and it was 12+ years old and explained the pros and cons of us doing a bandaid fix or replacement. Homeowner opted to replace it and I also gave her several solutions for replacement of the copper gas line and the T&P line that is PVC. She understands the risk and issues of not replacing either one and the cons of not bringing the GWH up to code. I replaced the unit with a new 50 gal Rheem and drip pan as well as new expansion tank. Once it was connected I filled it up with water and then turned it on. It works properly no leaks or issues and homeowner is satisfied with the service provided.

Replaced main house water shut off valve, prv , toilet water shut off valve, fill valve

Found leaking tub, waste and overflow, customer also approved estimate to replace tub overflow as well as toilet. Will return tomorrow to complete work.

Homeowner states that he recently had a visit from us and was told to fix a few things and called us again to fix the pressure and a leaking toilet. Upon arrival I knocked at door and homeowner greeted me and showed me to the upstairs bathroom toilet that was constantly running and wanted it fixed as well as the PRV. Showed him the solutions and opted to replace the PRV so I shut off the water at the whole home shut off located in grass left side of home before sidewalk. I also advised him that he needs a new water shut off. I began with removing the old fixtures and glued on three adapters and used Pex A fittings and pipe. Once it was all connected I turned on the water and then proceeded to replace the Mansfield tower gasket to prevent the toilet from flushing by itself. Once the seal was set it I turned on the water and it works properly no leaks or issues and homeowner is satisfied with the service provided.

Client called us out to check out a leaking main water service line. Gave estimates for repair and replacement. Client would like to talk with spouse and let us know. Full replacement comes with 5 yr warranty. Will credit service fee back off of full replacement.

Customer having problem with Roman tub faucet it would leak one drop of water every four seconds we replace the cartridge for it recently within six months and still doing it, I recommend to replace the whole faucet. Customer will order the parts and then call us back to replace it.

Find blue poly piping in ground customer approved for a new water service I returned today to install a new water service. I dug two holes one at the meter and one at the house. Then I trenched and connected both the holes. Then I ran the pipe in the trench and stubbed it into the home. I also added a new meter box with a ball valve. I backed filled everything and then installed a new prv in the basement and connected the new water line to the water line in the home. I tested system and system is working properly with no issues or leaks.
Price is to cut out 3 inch abs in wall and replace pipe through the floor. Customer had a leak on 3 inch abs pipe coming from vertical stack in the wall through the floor into the basement. Cut out pipe after cutting away wood paneling. Cautioned customer that while we would exercise caution in the removal of the wall, we do not repair cuts made to access plumbing. Replaced with a section of pvc pipe. Tested to ensure proper function and no leaks. None were found.
Dawson did a great job. Very efficient and completed water heater replacement in timely fashion. Very clear in reviewing shut-off valve, heating levels and pilot light control. Also good product.
The guys were professional and quick in their work

Thank you for sharing this Kathy! We’re glad to hear Coby took the time to explain everything clearly and that his work stood out. We’ll be here whenever you need us again.
We've had great experiences with Tim Chen Plumbing in the past. They've grown since we started using them several years ago. I'm glad to say Tim has hired other plumbers who are as thoughtful and thorough as he is. Coby explained what he was going to do, what he found, and what we need to consider and do going forward. I appreciate learning about our system, and it gives me a better appreciation for the plumbers and their work. Thank you, Coby!
Five star overall, Brylen came out to repair hole in cast iron kitchen sink drain and he suggested also clearing up under sink drain lines, which was done. Looks great! He and the helper cleaned everything up and he presented me with the invoice. Five star overall Five star quality Don’t know about price, I’m not a plumber and I didn’t get other quotes. The office and I had a problem but I think that has been taken care of. The technician needs to be able to print the invoice rather than me trying to read it off an iPad, even on a cloudy day.
Travis was knowledgeable, helpful, and went over all my options. I really appreciate the time and explanations. Wonderful technician!
Great service !
Matthew came out to flush out my tankless water heater yesterday. Can't say enough good things about his service - passionate about what he does, friendly, efficient, and incredibly knowledgeable. Matthew also took a look at a couple of other items that I had questions about and left me with some thoughtful insight about additional preventive work we need to consider. I plan to approve that estimate in the next couple days. I really hope gets to come back out to do the work - 5+ stars.
Hey David, thank you for the thoughtful review! We’re so glad to hear Matthew made such a strong impression—he really does care about doing things the right way. We appreciate you trusting us with your home and look forward to helping with the next phase of work.
