Customer had a stopped up toilet in the back hall of the home. Customer had knee surgery recently and was interested in a right height toilet. Measured existing toilet and found that it was a right height toilet already. Cleared the stoppage with an auger. Cautioned customer that despite precautions, the auger can cause scratching on the toilet. Cleared the stoppage and returned the toilet to normal function.

Dawson Foster and Josh (last name unknown, a second plumber) were wonderful! Very friendly, polite, hung plastic to keep any debris contained in the work area and worked diligently to get the job done in a timely manner. The work requested was extensive as our kitchen was being relocated in a different room. Additionally, our plumbing was cast iron piping in good condition in the vertical runs, but showing age in the horizontal runs. Dawson replaced the horizontal cast iron with PVC, including P-traps, branching, as well as stubbing pipes through the ceiling into 2nd floor bathrooms. He cut and connected the previous copper piping for the sink and dishwasher in the "old" kitchen, moving them to their new location using brand new copper piping and stainless valves. The dishwasher pipe was moved to the same cabinet location & stubbed out of the floor next to the new sink pipes so both can be connected inside the cabinetry. Additionally, Josh removed the cast iron in the upstairs bathrooms and connected the new PVC piping, which required removing both toilets and reseating them upon completion, as well as replacing the pipes to both sinks. A small replacement was required in the tub. Josh also reworked the pipes in the basement with new copper and PVC as needed. The work we needed was extensive and required 1 1/2 days. We were impressed by how clean Josh and Dawson kept the work sites throughout their time here and by how professional/knowledgable they were about what was needed to get the job completed. Additionally, they left all work areas neat and orderly with all tools placed out of the way over night. Except for the new pipes left, we'd never have known they were here. Extremely satisfied and would 100% recommend Chen Plumbing, Dawson & Josh, for having everything that we value when hiring out a service: excellent work completed in a professional manner by truly good people.

Ran toilet auger and went through but toilet still did not drain. Went into crawlspace and found sewer line detached from flange and is just pilled on top of line. Customer is having restoration come out to clean up so we can do sewer work.

Check pressure on system and thermal expansion tank. Both are functioning fine. Tested shower system thoroughly to ensure no dripping despite what customer has noticed recently. We discovered a drip in our intake to the house on Sunday night at 8:30PM. We filled out their online form, heard back within 5 minutes, and two plumbers were here barely 12 hours later. They immediately diagnosed the problem, then also identified two follow-on problems to fix and one error made by the original builders of the home. They were here 5.5 hours and fixed all four issues fantastically. But what really sets them apart is that I casually mentioned a couple little things that have bothered me (a faucet that wasn't installed correctly, an outdoor spigot that leaks): they fixed those as well, without asking and without charging, just because.

Customer heard a knocking noise coming from heater intermittently. Was unable to recreate the noise, but found that the thermal was failed above the heater and the pressure to the house was low, around 40 psi. Adjusted the pressure as a courtesy and set house pressure to 60 psi. The water heater was installed in 2018 and isn’t to minimum life expectancy for a water heater to be replaced. Additionally customer noted the water cooled off quicker. Performed a diagnostic test by determining flow rate of kid’s bath for the tub spout. Gpm is at 5. Had to wait for hot water to recover to perform the rest since the hot water was run out trying to recreate the knocking noise previously. Once the tank was recovered ran the water and did an initial temp test at over 140 F. Made customer aware that this isn’t a safe temperature for residential use and let customer know that for our liability the temperature has to be turned down below 140. Water lost a little over 30 degrees of temperature after 8

Customer had multiple problems throughout the home. Three-quarter inch PRV was leaking in basement area. Kohler flush seal had become deteriorated in upstairs bathroom. American standard/Jado cartridge replacement in master shower. Ordering diverter piece for shower valve for follow up appointment and potential tankless flush. Cleared out master shower drain after customer explained sulfur odor just in shower. Drain has P-trap and customer has tankless unit with no anode rod to go bad. Constant dripping from diverter most likely causing bacterial growth in grout.
