Price is to furnish and install new 50 gallon gas water heater with new pan, thermal expansion tank, and shutoff. Will replace hose bib in the back yard and mount to the brick. Remove kitchen faucet cartridge as a courtesy and check to see if the cartridge needs replacement or if debris is blocking. Will cut out lead drain to toilet in craft room and connect to the 4 inch cast tee with a fernco to run new pvc to a new flange and reset the toilet to the new flange. Coupon for 50 from mail promotion applied to the estimate. 5/9/25 Returned and installed a new 50 gallon gas water heater with new pan, shutoff, and thermal. Installed a new rear hose bib and replaced lead drain line for craft room toilet with a new flange. Checked kitchen faucet cartridge for obstructions. Tested all work to ensure proper function and no leaks. None were found. Will return next week when customers faucet they ordered arrives and replace it.

Did a meter read and had no meter movement in an almost 10 minute window and the floor didn’t warm up when hot water was run. Ran water after to ensure meter was reading and it is. Customer had slow draining shower. Attempted to clear with a snake and couldn’t clear. Gave pricing to cut out cast and an improper tee fitting on horizontal pvc. Customer approved and the drain was reworked. Drain is draining the shower properly now. Customer decided to wait until sink is replaced to replace the kitchen faucet. For the jetted tub the tub is draining through the jets. Recommended having a tub company inspect the jets for a proper solution. Made customer aware that the water service is galvanized. Informed customer of the risk of galvanized pipe and left a quote to replace the water service.

Customer had toilet that wasn’t flushing. Augured the toilet to clear the stoppage. Tested with multiple flushes to ensure proper function. (Video attached). Adjusted the fill level in the tank as a courtesy to ensure a better flush. Left quote for a new water heater because it will be time for replacement in about a year and will need a couple of code upgrades.

Upon arrival customer stated she had multiple issues. She wanted an estimate for a water heater. She also wanted an estimate to install a customer supplied faucet, garbage disposal and replace cartridge. She approved estimate to install customer supplied faucet and garbage disposal. While installing the faucet noticed the stops were not long enough to reach the supply lines. Gave customer new estimate to replace stops she approved estimate. Juan from Chen Plumbing did a great job installing a new water heater and fixing the shut off valve for our front faucet. He was very pleasant, communicated well, made sure we were satisfied with his work, and patiently answered any questions we had. There were a few challenges with our existing set up but he handled them efficiently and professionally. Juan, with Chen Plumbing, did a great job installing our new water heater (including bringing it up to current code) and fixing our front faucet cut off valve. He was pleasant, communicated well, patiently answered all our questions, went over everything he did, and made sure we were satisfied with the results (which we were). Dawson Foster and Josh (last name unknown, a second plumber) were wonderful! Very friendly, polite, hung plastic to keep any debris contained in the work area and worked diligently to get the job done in a timely manner. The work requested was extensive as our kitchen was being relocated in a different room. Additionally, our plumbing was cast iron piping in good condition in the vertical runs, but showing age in the horizontal runs. Dawson replaced the horizontal cast iron with PVC, including P-traps, branching, as well as stubbing pipes through the ceiling into 2nd floor bathrooms. He cut and connected the previous copper piping for the sink and dishwasher in the "old" kitchen, moving them to their new location using brand new copper piping and stainless valves. The dishwasher pipe was moved to the same cabinet location & stubbed out of the floor next to the new sink pipes so both can be connected inside the cabinetry. Additionally, Josh removed the cast iron in the upstairs bathrooms and connected the new PVC piping, which required removing both toilets and reseating them upon completion, as well as replacing the pipes to both sinks. A small replacement was required in the tub. Josh also reworked the pipes in the basement with new copper and PVC as needed. The work we needed was extensive and required 1 1/2 days. We were impressed by how clean Josh and Dawson kept the work sites throughout their time here and by how professional/knowledgable they were about what was needed to get the job completed. Additionally, they left all work areas neat and orderly with all tools placed out of the way over night. Except for the new pipes left, we'd never have known they were here. Extremely satisfied and would 100% recommend Chen Plumbing, Dawson & Josh, for having everything that we value when hiring out a service: excellent work completed in a professional manner by truly good people.

We discovered a drip in our intake to the house on Sunday night at 8:30PM. We filled out their online form, heard back within 5 minutes, and two plumbers were here barely 12 hours later. They immediately diagnosed the problem, then also identified two follow-on problems to fix and one error made by the original builders of the home. They were here 5.5 hours and fixed all four issues fantastically. But what really sets them apart is that I casually mentioned a couple little things that have bothered me (a faucet that wasn't installed correctly, an outdoor spigot that leaks): they fixed those as well, without asking and without charging, just because.
