Job Locations and Reviews
Customer contacted us regarding ground settling in the area of the previously replaced sewer line. The sewer line was replaced as far as beneath the driveway. At this time. The sewer is functioning properly with no flow issues or defects observed. The settling noticed is due to seasonal weather and freeze/thaw soil conditions, which are normal and unavoidable. No sewer repairs are required at this time. Recommendation is to allow the ground to settle naturally and address the final back filling once warmer conditions return.
Fill valve replacement x2 Supply line x2 This customer, we had to replace the fill valves on these Toto Aquilla toilets, so that’s exactly what we did. The reason why we had to replace the fill valves is due to the fact that they would basically burp trying to fill up. So therefore what we had to do is replace the fill valves, but they were really tight spots so we had to take the tanks of the toilets off because they were skirted toilets with very tight access. Replaced the supply lines and the fill valves did not replace the flappers due to the discount as well because the flush valve is one piece once installed there are no leaks. The customer is all set. The water pressure is normal. Did not take a look at the tankless serial number due to where it was in the crawlspace no further leaks or issues.
Professional and courteous.
Customer had a water heater that was over 10 years old. Customer expressed interest in replacement proactively. Gave customer a replacement option with and without membership informed customer prior to install the pan would likely not fit in that small space. Customer approved work and I installed a new water heater, shut off, and thermal expansion tank. Re-sloped the vent line and tested all connections to existing water and gas lines to ensure proper function of no leaks. None were found.
Leak in yard upon arrival. Customer stated dekalb county cut her water off due to a leak. After digging found 1 inch pvc line leaking at a quest fitting. Informed customer we could replace that section of pipe. Gave customer estimate, customer approved estimate. Installed new section of pvc pipe and turned water back on to check for leaks. Found no leaks. No leaks upon departure
This job came back out to the customers home to reconnect the water heater in the crawlspace because the people doing the encapsulation have finished what they were needing to be done so therefore, I set the water heater back into the pan that connected the water lines, reconnecting the gas line and then reconnecting the vent as well used all proper connections once installed there are no leaks the same way it came out was the same way it was put in. There’s no gas or water leak used three screws per joint on every event connection that was taken off. CUSTOMER’s water pressure is at 60 psi. Set the water heater to the temperature of “a” which is indicating 120°F. No further issues at this time.
Called out today due to a pipe gushing water in the back yard, causing the back yard to be flooded. After investigation found the temperature and pressure relief line from the water heater to be the culprit. Water heater was 10+ yrs old and the thermal expansion tank had failed on it, so it was decided best to replace the water heater. Installed new Rheem 50 gal electric water heater up to code in a pan, with new properly supported thermal expansion tank and new shutoff valve. Adapted from cpvc to pex an and piped in the new unit. Turned water back on and tested. No issues. Home water pressure is perfect at 60 psi. Safe range is 50-79 psi. 6 yr manufacturer warranty 1 yr labor
Customer had a water heater that had leaked and had water leaking out under the carpet and walls. Recommended Provision to come out and remediate. Customer scheduled them to come out in the morning. Replaced 40 gas with a 50 gas. Installed a new thermals, drip pan, and shutoff. Tested all work to ensure proper function and no leaks. Informed customer that existing vent goes to a chimney. Recommended having an hvac company inspect the venting.
For this job, CUSTOMER called us out to do a pull in reset on their water heater in the crawlspace. The customer is having an encapsulated so in order for the people that do the crawlspace they needed it removed in order to properly encapsulate the space so therefore we will come back to reinstall the water heater With the same existing one customer currently has a Bradford white water heater. I disconnected all the necessary components gas, water and the vent, to insure proper removal, once uninstalled there are no leaks used two propress caps to complete the project.
Customer needed hot and cold stops as well as diswasher stop installed under the kitchen sink before remodel is complete. Also needed gas line reworked. Brought the new stop out low enough to be able to loop the new gas line once installed. Tested all work extensively to ensure proper function and no leaks. Mistakenly turned off another meter for that half of the complex when his pilot didn’t quickly go out when testing what was thought to be his meter. Called the gas company and determined the meter belonged to unit 3915. The occupant wasn’t home at the time of work to see. If we need to return and relight their water heater as a courtesy they know they can call the office to have me come out. Was unable to check pressure to unit due to water heater location. Prv is for whole building also.
Water leak in crawlspace upon arrival. Customer stated he heard water spraying and saw that it was leaking in the crawlspace. After crawling in the crawlspace found 3/4 copper line leaking but no way to access due to how small the crawlspace was. Informed customer we would need to cut the floor above to access it. Gave customer estimate, customer approved estimate. Cut out busted shark bite fitting and replaced that section of copper. Turned water back on to check for leaks. Found no leaks. No leaks upon departure
Came out for issue with the water heater and for a valve. Homeowner wanted to replace the gate valve to his hose bib as it was not cutting off all the way. Water heater had an undersized gas line, a leaking t&p, and the pilot light was randomly going out. We found the gas flex line was undersized, t&p needed to be replaced, and the vent hood on the water heater was the incorrect one, cause improper combustion in the burner assembly, and choking out the pilot light due to lack of oxygen. Customer elected to just replace the water heater since there were so many problems with it, and we threw the valve replacement for the hose bib in at no cost. Installed new tank and tested to ensure proper function and a leak free install.
Dawson was great. Knew immediately what needed to be done. Thoroughly explained what the issue was and how he planned on fixing the problem. We have an older home so repairs aren’t alway easy or straightforward but Dawson was able to resolve the challenges efficiently and with minimal impact. Another good experience with Chen Plumbing. Hoping we don’t need a plumber again anytime soon but, if we do, we will be calling Chen Plumbing.
Replaced leaking hose bib and shut off on back of house. Resealed the foundation penetration. Left hose bib off and drained as we’re expecting a freeze this weekend.
Relocated and installed new 3/4 PRV, set to 60 psi. Installed new shut off valve in more accessible location, replaced shut off valve to hose bib. Tested to ensure a leak free install. 1 year warranty on parts and labor.
Cody - Highly Recommend
Returned and installed a new 40 gallon medium electric water heater with a new thermal expansion tank, shutoff, and pan. Ensured unit was producing hot water before departure. After collecting for the water heater and when heading out, noted ice coming from under hose bib insulation capsule. Found front hose bib was frozen. Noted to customer that neither hose bib had an accessible shutoff and the rear hose bib is leaking and building ice on the wall. Replaced both shutoffs in the wall and installed two new hose bibs with pex going through the wall to ensure the piping is more resilient to freezing. Tested all work to ensure proper function and no leaks, none were found. Winterized the hose bibs with the customer present for future winters.
Tee off at meter and run designated gas line for generator. Gas would need to be shut off for home. Customer stated that they needed a gas line ran to generator. Give customer quote to run designated gas line from meter to generator. Customer agreed so went ahead and shut off gas to home. Took apart at the meter and teed off for half inch line. Ran half inch line and installed shut off. Made connection for generator. Turn gas back on and tested for leaks, and no gas leaks were present at this time. Tested generator and generator was working properly. Cleaned up work area and sprayed rust oleum to protect piping.
We have had great service each time we have had a problem and needed a plumber. Coby has been so helpful and did great work and never left a mess.
Returned and installed customer provided, extra tall, 12 inch rough, American Standard Cadet Pro. Per customer request installed the previous toilet seat on the new toilet. Flange was cracked on the right side. Installed a flange spammer as a courtesy. Had noted to customer on the previous trip that the toilet is roughed at 14 inches, but they previously had a 12 inch rough toilet and couldn’t get a 14 inch rough in the model they wanted quickly enough. Tested all work to ensure proper function and no leaks. None were found. Toilet does fill on the slower side. Possible partially closed toilet stop.
Fixed gas leak underground, replaced a 50 gal gas water heater today
I cannot say enough how much I appreciate the care and professionalism Tim provided me during this situation at my home. He was wonderful, and even checked on me before he began the work. I will recommend him to everyone with plumbing needs.
..
Broke concrete and dug down to broken cast iron line. Location is near back wall. Removed section of cast iron with crack along the entire length of the bottom. Installed pvc, with added sealant at joints. After repair was complete, we backfilled hole and poured concrete. Thoroughly cleaned site.
This is he third time Cody Butts has helped us with different plumbing problems. We appreciate the time he took to explain the problems and thorough work he has done once again. Ask for Cody!
Customer had a toilet in the primary bedroom that was backing up. Toilet is over 12 years old and has clogged multiple times in the past week or so. Recommended replacing the toilet due to age. Customer ordered a new toilet and approved work to install when it arrives. Unclogged the toilet as a courtesy since the toilet will be replaced.

Take all the concrete, debris m trash away . Not include fix concrete back
Replaced a brush nickel tub lift and turn drain trim
No work done today, estimates for various issues. Cody was terrific, has worked on my house before. Cody is great at explaining the scope of work and how it will benefit your houses functions and how to prioritize what needs to be worked on first. Takes time and shows pictures of your plumbing. Thanks!
We are glad Cody was able to walk you through everything clearly and help you prioritize what makes the most sense for your home! It is great to hear he took the time to explain and show you what was going on. We appreciate your continued trust, Karen.
Customer had concerns about copper piping in the home. Customer wanted to discuss potential Repipe. Didn’t see any concerning areas on any exposed copper lines under the home that were inspected. Recommended a Flo by Moen for early leak detection before doing something like a full repipe first. Also noted a cluster of cast piping that is rusting heavily and needs replacement. Finally left quote for running a dedicated return line from the kitchen to the tankless. Customer inquired into a comfort tee and pump but that setup won’t work correctly with the tankless she had installed. Left customer quotes for all stated work.
Customer had an outdated round front toilet that he wanted replaced with an elongated ADA toilet. Provided and installed a new Western ADA elongated toilet. Tested all work to ensure proper function and no leaks. None were found.
Check sewer smell , did some caulk around rubber gasket from pump cord came out
Tim was so professional and nice, he made sure I was satisfied with everything and left the area clean. I would definitely recommend and use them again
Great experience with Chen Plumbing! Chase was kind, thorough and very informative.
I really appreciate Tim Chens prompt reply and concern for my issues.
Great service to fix water leak in kitchen. We had to buy faucet but they came back and installed it the next day. Shane was very professional and explained things well and did a great job.
Very responsive … very pricey solution to replace the whole DWV system (it is needed). I’ll look forward to inspecting the finished product as your firm has great reputation. Thanks again for prompt service call Steve
We had a rusted tub drain that Shane replaced. He did a nice job with the work. He was also very friendly with us and with our young son.
Every detail attended to. Thanks fellas.
I had a clog in the kitchen drain line which I isolated to an old 3" pipe. I asked Chen to snake the pipe to break the clog. After accommodating the re-schedule to clear the clog, Tim arrived and insisted to replace the drain pipe, then snake it and replace the perfectly good disposal. $3800. When I asked him to just snake the pipe to clear it, he refused and said I should do it myself or find another plumber. Ridiculous. The next day I DID clear it myself with water pressure and tightened the seal on the disposal. Now all is fine. Tim didn't want to do a simple job for a lower price. This is the second time he has recommended much more expensive work. Last time it was $2500 for digging up pipes when a snake clean out worked fine for $500. I won't use him again.
Cody did a great and thorough job checking out the issue and explaining what could be happening and how to fix it .
Very professional, friendly, pleasant service! Ask for Shane, he's a sweetheart!
Thank you for the kind review, Michele. We are glad to hear you had a pleasant experience and that Shane took great care of you. We truly appreciate the recommendation.
Shane was so kind, competent and professional. He provided estimates for a few things that could be needed and was ok with me just getting one thing done. Such a pleasure to see a man who loves his job and moves in the world in that mindset.

We had two ADA height toilets put in by Cody with Chen Plumbing. He was very kind in explaining how the work was being done. Cody was careful in cleaning up afterwards and hauled the two toilets away also. We would have him come back if ever we had another plumbing need.

Second time having Cody come out. He's incredibly thorough and honest. I highly recommend him and will specifically ask for him in future projects.
