For this customer, they are claiming that they hear a sound from the water heater. It’s making a clicking noise however, when I was there couldn’t find the source of the clicking noise. We hear a clicking noise at all however, the water pressure is at 80 psi the pressure gauge that I have is off by 20 pounds. In addition to that pressure reducing valve needs to be replaced. The customer has a recirculation pump on their water heater that also needs to be replaced due to the fact that it is no longer working and functioning properly in addition to that the water heater at the bottom near the Burner assembly on the inside has a lot of rust and water buildup around the tank however, it is not leaking on the outside of the tank. It is definitely leaking somewhere internally. Recommend you get everything replaced as soon as possible.

Shawn was an absolute pleasure to work with. We had a major leak around Christmastime and needed repairs ASAP before having company for the holidays. He turned a seemingly super stressful problem into an even better solution that we didnt even think was possible. Shawn arrived the same day I called even though they were really busy due to the holidays. He explained the issue but reassured us that insurance would cover the repairs which was such a relief because we all know money gets tight around the holidays. Overall, 11/10 experience and I will be using this company in the future for any and all my plumbing needs!

Response from Chen Plumbing:

Thank you so much for sharing this, Camryn. We are really glad Shawn was able to step in quickly, ease the stress, and find a solution that worked for you during such a busy time. It means a lot to know you felt supported, and we truly appreciate your trust moving forward.

Call for toilet and tub backup.

Arrived and met with Kristian. He states that the toilet and tub have been backed up, and sewage has leaked through garage ceiling. Sewage also came from under toilet on to the bathroom floor.

While inspecting I ran water for approximately ten minutes (218-230pm) in the bathroom and was unable to replicate blockage. Blockage seems to have been on line serving upstairs bathroom and kitchen only, and downstairs bathroom has no signs of backup or leaks. Clean out outside shows no signs of overflowing, but is missing a cap. I believe this was a local soft tissue or grease blockage, and will provide an estimate to camera the sewer line. When inspecting sewer system I also discovered the pressure regulating valve has been dripping from corrosion on the incoming side. Pressure reads at 40psi at 255pm.

Replaced dripping pressure regulating valve. Installed new thermal expansion tank and mounting bracket.

Pressurized system and checked for leaks.

Came out to address issues with downstairs bathroom that were unrelated to the issue we fixed on our initial visit. Customer had another company out prior to any of the work we did. That company told customer there was a belly in the line and they were going to reroute the bathroom. They abandoned line and rerouted line roughly 20’ over to a stack that came down under the slab under the stairs. They installed this line going up hill the entire way. I left quote last time to address this issue of the downstairs bathroom backed up again. Line did eventually back up after a few months. Customer decided to properly address the issue. I had camera’d the abandoned line previously and knew that it was still in good shape. We jackhammered the slab in the bathroom, concrete was between 10-12” thick. Exposed the piping under the slab. Ran water in the tub and found it was pouring out of the pipe under the section of slab where the tub was sitting. Knew the p-trap must be broken. Notified homeown

Client called us out today due to a water line leak inside the garage just above the water heater in the wall. It had caused a good bit of water damage in garage and to the inside pantry area as well. Referred reliable restoration to assess and deal with the water cleanup and put back. Due to the location of the leak, I had to uninstall the water heater to get access to the pipe in order to make the repair. Uninstalled the 2 yr old water heater then found a split 3/4” hot pex line just before it went up into the attic to feed rest of home. This is second leak on this same section of piping. This time, there was a split in the pipe about 2” long water was spraying out of. Removed tang section and repaired with a couple fittings and some pex a water piping. Before installing water heater back we tested for Leaks, there are none. Proceeded to reinstall the water heater and added new ball valve shutoff and new properly supported thermal expansion tank per code, as the previous install was

I came today to install a new water service. I started by digging two holes one at the meter and one by the home. I also had to cut part of the drive way. Them I trench both the holes together. I also installed a meter box with a ball valve and stubbed a new line through the basement and hyropluged the hole. After I got the new pipe connected I tested it for leaks then I back filled the holes. Tested system and system is working properly with no leaks or issues.

Homeowner states that they noticed water continuously leaks from two tub/showers that aren’t used very often and can sometimes take days to stop. Upon arrival I was greeted by homeowners and they showed the issues and expressed their concerns that too much water is wasted and consumed. I did my inspection and didn’t find anything else wrong other than the leaks and PRV pressure fluctuations but I highly recommend replacing the PRV and the two delta cartridges for the tub/showers to fix the leaking issue and prevent further leaks. Homeowners weren’t sure if they wanted to fix these issues right away and will let us know at a later date.

Very satisfied with the installation of the new water heater .Chris was very polite. He went over what would needed to be done and then provided an estimate. Once approved he went to work quickly and in a short time the new water heater was up and runnig. Very neat installation.

Response from Chen Plumbing:

Rich, we’re glad to hear you’re satisfied with the new water heater installation. We appreciate it.

Upon arrival customer stated he wanted a water heater quote. Gave customer estimate. Customer approved the estimate. I started by drain the old water heater and cutting it out. After the water heater was drained I took it out of the home and brought the new water heater inside. I installed the new water with a drain pan, a new ball valve, and new thermal expansion tank. After I made all the proper connections I filled the water heater up and got all the air out of the system and turned the water heater on. I informed the customer that it would take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour for the water to get hot. Tested system and system is working properly with no issues or leaks.

Came out to identify why sewage backed up into the home. Found cleanout outside with standing water. Flushed toilet inside and felt ground start vibrating. Dug around and found lift station lid underground. Opened lid to inspect pump. .4 hp zoeller sewage ejection pump. Spoke with homeowner who said original pump float switch went bad and they had to have it replaced. Appears that new float switch was installed too high in basin, allowing sewage to back up into line before pump activates and activates very frequently. Believe the frequency of the float switch engaging caused a failure to engage with the pump and caused the sewage to back up into the home. Notified homeowner of findings.

Basement bathroom continuing to back up after we corrected pitch under slab and on exterior of home. We flushed toilet multiple times and ran tub and sink last time and all were draining. Today arrived and found water was still draining, but very very slowly. Pulled toilet and camera’d from toilet. Found grease blockage that had occurred during the time before the pitch was corrected under the slab. Was able to clear most of the grease and restore flow. Ran all fixtures in downstairs bathroom to verify. Rerouted line has some spots that are flat, and branch line going to toilet is back pitched and holding approx 1” of water. Toilet is very old and I recommended we try replacing toilet before committing to jackhammering the slab under the bathroom. Left quote to replace toilet, also left quote to reroute the bathroom drains back to the existing drain that was previously capped off 6 years ago. Both lines have adequate depths where this would be possible. Branch line appears to be 3”. To
