Customer had front and rear hose bib that had suffered freeze damage and couldn’t be shut off fully. Recommended removing drywall inside and replacing the hose bibs from inside because there is improper material (galvanized) on the front hose bib and the hose bib in the back is coming out entirely too far. Customer declined having the drywall cut and replacing the hose bibs properly. Made customer aware that the hose bibs can be replaced from the outside, but since there is improper material and no way to mount the new hose bibs flush to the wall that it will be counted as a temporary fix and carries no warranty on work or connections. This is due to reasons stated above. Tested the back line for the old gas grill and disconnected the joint. Found that gas had been shut off to the line and there is no risk of gas leaking. It is customer responsibility to properly insulate the hose bibs since they are coming too far out of the wall.
Customer wanted stub out in fireplace for gas longs to be placed. Gave price to perform the work. Made customer aware that gas to fireplace is currently on and working. Lit fireplace to ensure function. Some of the ports will need cleaning. Made customer aware that it is possible to get gas log for current setup without additional gas work. Customer will see if ordered logs can be returned and call us if he would like work done that was quoted. Made customer aware that due to age of water heater replacement is recommended.
