Came out to look at a notification the homeowner was getting on their Moen device. Arrived and went down to the basement where it was installed. Found no issue with the Moen device but could hear water hissing outside of the foundation wall. I closed the valve inside and went out to the meter and found it was still constantly spinning which confirmed the presence of a leak. Notified homeowner and received approval for repairs. Dug down 2’ in front of the home and found the 1” black poly water service. Took video of the leak occurring. Looks like the angle the water service was installed at was putting strain on the pipe due to how hard it was bent to go through the foundation and the pipe ultimately cracked. Cut out the damaged section and replaced with copper. Installed new ball valve and PRV inside. Set new pressure to 70 psi. Tested to ensure proper function and a leak free install. Sealed foundation penetration with hydraulic cement. No further issue at this time. 2 year membership

For this customer they have few problems going underneath the crawl space. The domestic water supply is pvc for the cold water lines, they have some cpvc under there. However the lines that were leaking were the cold pvc line in the crawl space it was split in two places as far as i am aware, pvc can not be used for domestic water lines, toilet, lavatory and the bathtub. The recommendation is to repipe all the cold and hot water lines, repipe the water heater and replace the water heater due to the age, it isn’t broken, however it is out of code, there are 1/2 lines coming off the water heater, no thermal expansion tank, the t&p is piped in with pvc, needs to be cpvc or copper, the lines are 3/8s then convert into 1/2 for the water heater, they need to be 3/4 everywhere. Option 2 would be to repipe all the water lines, replace the heater and install a frost proof Bibb and no extra cost. Option 1 is to repipe everything, sewer lines and water lines interior. Option 3 is to replace just
