Client called us out due to the gas company turning off their gas due to them finding a couple leaks on the system. The culprit of the leak was an old 3/8” type L soft copper gas line that was dented under the furnace, and heavily corroded all along the run of it.

We replaced the copper gas line with new CSST gas piping, tied in up in attic just beside furnace with a shutoff, and also a shutoff at the water heater per code. New gas fittings for water heater sediment trap also. To complete the necessary work we had to uninstall the water heater due to the gas lines running behind it. After work was done reinstalled the existing water heater then got air out and fired it up. Also, the gas tie in for kitchen stove was at the water heater but there was no need for them to run it how they did. We moved that tie in up in attic next to furnace as well with a gas shutoff.

Tested all connections, all good.
