The homeowner contacted me after I had been in the neighborhood a couple of days earlier. They requested an inspection of their Kohler shower valve due to low hot-water pressure. Since the shower had recently undergone a remodel, the homeowner was concerned that the issue might be related to a defective shower valve or cartridge. I recommended removing the shower trim plate to inspect the valve and cartridge and determine the cause of the reduced hot-water pressure. Upon removing the trim plate, I discovered that the valve was not fully open, restricting the hot-water flow. I adjusted the valve to the fully open position and tested the shower to verify proper operation. After making the adjustment, the shower was functioning properly, and no further issues were observed with the shower valve. Additionally, I checked the home’s water pressure to evaluate the overall plumbing system. Before entering the basement to access the water heater and check the pressure, I detected the presence
For this job I came out to take a look at a toilet that was clogged. Upon arrival I took at the master bathroom toilet that is where the homeowner was having the issue. The water level in the toilet was low, as a result I flushed the toilet and it went down with no issues. The issue for why it continues to clog is due to the fact that the porcelain in the bowl has slowly degraded over time and causing more frequent issues with the toilet. There are few recommendations you could do but mainly, what you want to do is replace the toilet, there are many different styles and brands of toilets you can choose from. I have created a list of different options of toilets that we can install them with. There is no clog as far I can see. I ran multiple fixtures and nothing backed up at this time.
Diagnosed leaking at toilet in master bathroom. Found supply stop valve to be leaking from handle. Replaced stop valve and tested toilet. Also found leak inside bidet unit. Removed bidet and installed new seat provided by customer. Connected supply line straight into toilet and removed bidet connection. Tested for proper operation and leaks. No leaks found after work completed Tested water pressure and checked water heater. Both units are from 2012. Left replacement options seeing that pressure regulator and water heater are in that time frame of replacement.
