Replace and install a new 50 gallon gas water heater in the basement Repair the flue vent Replace the two gate valve lines with two new ball valves Replace the thermal expansion tank with a new bracket Replace the gas flex line Win with Chen For this job, I replaced the 2005 A.O. Smith gas water heater in the basement with a brand new ream, professional pro g50 water heater. I repipe the temperature and pressure relief line. Following that I replaced the thermal expansion tank and added a mounting bracket. Installed all brand new copper fittings and copper piping with a new quarter turn ball valve following that I had to do a minor pipe repair on to shut off valves and replace the old gate valve style to two brand new quarter turn ball valves installed a new drip leg kit Following that with a new 36 inch gas flex line set the water heater to A. In addition to that, I had to redo the flu due to the fact that it was back pitched and didn’t have a gradual slope and it was missing cert
But this job I gave a couple different estimates on a new water heater to be installed in the basement of this residence. The water heater is from 2005. It is a A.O. Smith pro max heater. The unit is not currently operating properly with an issue with the flu vent. Recommended to replace the unit in the shut off valve behind the water heater to remove the old style gate valves remove the oxidation install new quarter turn bulb valves and saw a new quarter ball valve for the shut off valve for the water heater. Install a new thermal expansion tank with a bracket bring up the water heater up to code compliance. At this time. The customer needs to speak with their spouse in order to see what they would like to do.
